Bridal magazines are loved by brides, moms and women all over the world. These magazines give them an opportunity to hone in on what they really want for their wedding, from everything from the dress to the cake. When he was just 16-years-old, Buddy Valastro, the Cake Boss, dreamed of being in such magazines.
The Cake Boss came to Tampa on June 3 as part of his “Touring with the Cake Boss” tour. He entertained the crowd the entire show and won over everyone’s hearts at the Straz Center. No one could get enough of this love-able family guy.
After decorating a few cupcakes with some audience members, Valastro told the tale of how he became the Cake Boss and how everything started with a wedding magazine. At age 16, he told his father that one day his cake would be featured in a bridal magazine, and a few years later, it was.
A representative from Modern Bride magazine saw one of Valastro’s wedding cakes in the shop window while walking by one day and said she wanted to feature it in the magazine. From that day on Valastro has been in over 200 bridal publications over ten years and was in every issue of Modern Bride for over 3 years. Talk about a popular Cake Boss!
Valastro’s wedding cakes are unique and can be tailored to suit any style wedding. His cake factory, which is about a month away from opening, will allow him to ship his cakes all over the country.
